Welcome Baby Logan!

One of my very best friends, melanie, had her precious baby boy almost three weeks ago! We were so lucky to be able to be there when he was born. We are so glad that he is finally here and that both Logan and mommy are doing great. He is the cutest baby! Hopefully his buddy Austin will be here soon! :)

Just Waiting...

Hey all!

Sorry I haven't posted in several weeks. We were having some technical difficulties with the blog but we got it all straightened out (and by "we" I mean by computer genius husband). We got the blog fixed just in time because we are down to one week left until baby arrives! I can't believe that tomorrow I will officially be 39 weeks pregnant...WOW! Now it is just a waiting game. Everyday I wake up and think, will he come today?? I know he is going to come when he is ready! I mean really, who would want to leave hotel utero? haha.

We have had a lot happen over the last few weeks that I wanted to post about so get ready to see a ton of pictures...I have a lot of catching up to do on this blog before Austin arrives!

Nursery Pictures!

I know that everyone has been asking to see pics of Austin's nursery so I wanted to post a few. We still have some work left to do but it is almost ready! It has been so much fun to watch it all come together over the last few months. Hope you enjoy the pictures!

Austin's grandparents bought this beautiful Dr. Seuss print as a gift to me for Christmas. Well, the timing could not have been more perfect...it looks amazing in the nursery. This picture is from my favorite Dr. Seuss book, Oh The Places You'll Go!

This is Austin's hospital sign that we just had made for him! We are going to take it to the hospital with us and when he is born we will have them put his hand/footprints in the middle. Morgan, the artist, is going to write in his birthdate, length and weight after he arrives! It is adorable!

I am sure we will make some changes to the nursery over the next few weeks and then probably even some more after he gets here but we are really happy with the way it has turned out!

We have officially entered the last month of pregnancy! We went to the doctor yesterday and he said that everything looks great. Austin's heartbeat was strong and he was moving around like crazy. I was having some contractions during the fetal monitoring but I guess thats just my body trying to get ready for the big event!

I can't believe that we are almost to the end of this pregnancy. I was thinking this morning about how much I have enjoyed being pregnant and how fast these nine months have gone by. I wanted to blog about some of the things that I want to remember and also want Austin to know, so this one is for you my sweet baby boy...

Your daddy and I LOVE to feel you kick and roll around in my belly...and you are definitely a mover!! Your daddy's face lights up EVERY time he feels you. He gets so excited!

Your daddy likes to read you Oh Baby! The Places You'll Go by Dr. Seuss

You get the hiccups the same time of day just about every day (at night when mommy lays down to go to sleep)

I don't usually feel you much in the mornings...your daddy and I think maybe you like to sleep in :)

You do not like it when I lay on my sides or cross my arms and place them on top of the belly and you definitely let me know when you want me to switch positions!

Some very memorable moments during pregnancy have been the first time...we saw you on ultrasound, heard your little heart beating, I felt you really move and the first time your daddy felt you move, the first time you got the hiccups (that was such a funny feeling), the moment we found out you were a BOY

Your daddy and I both agree that while we love feeling you in the belly we can't wait to hold you in our arms...very soon! We love you little man!

35 Weeks and counting...

All About Baby!

I can't believe that it is already July! Austin will be here before we know it...and there is still so much to get done before his arrival, YIKES! John and I went to the doctor on Tuesday and everything looked great. We get to go back next Tuesday for another ultrasound and see our little man! We are at 33 weeks and counting. This week Austin is the size of a pineapple, isn't that crazy?? I am carrying around something the size of a pineapple!!

We have had so many wonderful friends and family throw us amazing baby showers. I know that they all put so much work and love into making these parties really special for us and we are so appreciative! Also, my mom's friends at her work got together and hosted a "grandmother shower" for her which was so thoughtful of them and I know meant so much to her and to John and I. I wanted to share pictures from some of the baby showers that we have had this summer!

This was my very first baby shower that my friends from school hosted! It was such a fun shower!

Couples Baby Shower June 5, 2010

Rebecca, Rachel, Nicole, Somerset and Melanie hosted a couples shower for John and I. It was so much fun to be able to include the guys! Everything was bright green and blue...I loved it! They came up with the most creative ideas for the shower which made it really special for us!

Bet you can't guess who those two cute babies are...haha!

Somerset made this adorable diaper cake for the shower! She is definitely the diaper cake queen :)

Melanie had this beautiful plate painted for Austin and I LOVE IT! It is on the bookshelf in his nursery

They had a little candy station set up with the cutest little bags that had Austin's name on them. The candy table was a huge hit!

John's mom gave us the shirt that John wore home from the hospital! It says, "Dr. Smith Really Delivers" with a kangaroo on it. It is precious. It's hard to believe that my husband was once that small!

Good times with family and Fathers Day

I have to start by saying that I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful family! My cousin Katie from Denver has been in town for the last two weeks and I have REALLY enjoyed spending time with her. She is such an incredible young woman! I have decided that Katie is good at EVERYTHING!! In the last two weeks, Katie has helped me with just about every project that I needed to get done! Thanks so much Katie :) She and my uncle helped paint Austin's nursery and Katie designed and painted the mural above his crib. The mural looks so precious and it makes it even more special that his cousin painted it for him! Katie leaves today even though I think she should stay for the rest of the summer...

Silly Daddy!

Austin got John a Fathers Day Card...hey we have a very advanced baby...what can i say?haha

After breakfast John and I headed over to his parents house to have lunch and go swimming! John can't seem to put the squirt gun down, even for a picture...he was having way too much fun with that squirt gun!!

We took my dad out to dinner that night to celebrate. I am so lucky to have two such amazing men in my life. Happy Fathers Day John and dad! I love you both so very much!

32 weeks today!

Birthday Celebration

I had a really fun birthday this year. I turned 28 weeks pregnant the same week that I turned 28 years which I thought that was kind of special! My family went out to dinner the night of my birthday to celebrate and I wanted to to share some pictures with you all...

And the birthday celebration continued that weekend with more family...hey, you can never have enough birthday, right?!

This is the cute cake that my sister in law made me for my birthday! How lucky am I that I have two sisters who both make amazing cakes?? One word people: YUMMY!!

And yes...we finished off the whole cake at our house! Can I blame it on being 7 months pregnant??
